Coronavirus A Homeopathic Perspective

I hope you are all doing well. My inbox has been flooded with articles about the Coronavirus and what you can do to prevent it. I wrote an article a few years back Staying Healthy With Homeopathy For Flus when the SARS epidemic was the big fear of the day. The information in that article is still relevant to the current epidemic. The article talks about what to do at the first sign of illness, remedies for infectious diseases, and supplements. PURCHASE A REMEDY KIT
My suggestion is to purchase a 30C and possibly a 200C remedy kit. The reason for this is that the kits will contain the most commonly used homeopathic remedies for flus. The three remedies that were of most assistance in the Spanish Flu of 1918 are our three biggest flu remedies: Gelsemium sempervirens, Bryonia alba, and Eupatorium perfoliatum.
In addition the kit will contain Arsenicum album. One of my clients from India was told to take and to give Arsenicum 30C to herself and her family for three consecutive days as a prophylactic measure to protect themselves from this virus. I have seen this advice in other sources as well coming out of India.
The best protection, however, is going to be your constitutional remedy, if you are fortunate enough to know it, as the body experiences most illnesses as a flare up of the constitutional state.
The other way the body experiences sickness is as a pure acute illness. Under the influence of a pure acute the chronic symptoms are suspended, and you now experience a new state and a new set of symptoms. Here the acute remedies like Aconite, and Belladonna come into play, or our subacute remedies like Nux vomica, Rhus toxicodendron, and the flu remedies that I mentioned above and in my article on flus. When the acute illness is finished the chronic symptoms reappear, and that’s a way you know that you are over this illness, and back to your usual state.
Another remedy I think it is worth to seriously consider is Syphilinum. I believe that this remedy embodies the spirit of the Coronavirus and the mass response to it. The fear generated by this virus is the fear of germs and infection. Syphilinum is listed in bold for this. This fear prompts people to wash their hands frequently and they are told to do so by the media, and medical authhorities. Syphilinum is listed in high degree for frequent hand washing. Syphilinum is like one of those things you can’t see that is right in front of your face. It is too obvious, so you ignore it. I would recommend purchasing this remedy in the 30C or 200C potency and possibly both potencies and have them in the house. The Syphiulitic miasm is about destructiveness and we are all in fear of the destructive power of this virus. It is also good to remember that diseases do not arise in a vacuum. The diseases stem from the mental state and the spiritual state of the times. We are really in a large sense living in a Syphilitic era. Hence a highly Syphilitic virus comes into existence, which matches the state the world is in at this time.
So when the traditional remedies for infectious diseases are not working, it may be good to look at nosodes like Syphilinum. It is also not a bad idea to remember the remedies that Hahnemann used in the cholera pandemic of 1830: Veratrum album, Cuprum, Camphora. We do have remedies for collapsed and very advanced disease in homeopathy. We certainly have way more to offer than Western medicine. We have a tool box, which is enormous, effective and powerful. We just don’t have good press to get the word out. Wouldn’t it be great if homeopaths pooled their resources and could afford to advertise on CNN, MSNBC and Fox News like the pharmaceutical industry. They are incredibly good at advertising. We need a few lessons from them.
In summary: Everyone agrees that maintaining excellent hygiene is the first line of defense. What I have to add to this is get yourself a 30C or a 200C homeopathic kit. In addition get Syphilinum 30C or 200C, because it won’t be in the kit. That way if you get sick, you can contact me or your own homeopath and get their guidance on which of the remedies in the kit fit your symptoms. This way you don’t have to run to Whole Foods or Sprouts or wherever you get your remedies from when you are ill, because they are at home with you and available to help you in times of need.

HOMEOPATHIC PROPHYLAXIS FOR THE EPIDEMIC
There are differences of opinion as to whether you should take a homeopathic prophylactic remedy for the Coronavirus. I have heard a few intelligent points of view regarding this:
1) If the threat is truly imminent, meaning there are many people at your child’s school, at your work place, or in your neighborhood who are coming down with the flu, and the genus epidemicus of this flu virus has been determined, then it makes good sense to take that remedy, as your risk of exposure is rather high. 2) If there haven’t been any reported cases of infection by the Coronavirus where you live, then the threat is not imminent, and it is better not to take a prophylactic remedy, because you then risk proving a remedy that you do not need, and the remedy can interfere with your constitutional remedy. The risk of taking a remedy you do not need, then outweighs your risk of exposure to the Coronavirus. If there are cases where you live then it would be good to consider prophylactic treatment.
3) The question also arises as to which remedy to take prophylactically, if you are treating something that you do not have, and whose symptoms you can only imagine. For this reason, I think the best thing is to get yourself a kit and purchase Syphilinum 30C or 200C as well, because it will not be in the kit. That way, if you do get a flu or the Coronavirus, you will have genuine symptoms to report that will guide to the treatment, and then when you shoot the arrow of your remedy, you will not miss, because you have a clear target to aim at.
