Should I Get A COVID19 Vaccination or Not? A Homeopathic Perspective
A woman wrote me this week with a few questions about the COVID19 vaccinations and what my thoughts were on this subject. Earlier I had sent her a link to one of Paul Herscu’s Epidemic Updates on vaccines.This prompted me to make her question the theme of this newsletter.
Basically this woman opted to vaccinate, and she wanted to know what homeopathy can do to help people who may experience negative reactions to the COVID19 vaccine. She also wanted to know what could be done to strengthen the immune system, so that people respond better to the vaccine or the disease if they get it.
Here is my response:
Dear Seeker After Answers,Thank you for writing with your questions. I hope you are doing well.
As far as your first question about what can be done for people who have adverse effects from the vaccine.
Answer: For local adverse effects at the site of the vaccine, I would just apply Ledum cream, as this is very good for that. Here are links to where you can buy this at the First Aid Creams Website and Amazon.com.
Paul Herscu mentions four levels of possibility of response. These levels go back to the roots of homeopathy, because Samuel Hahnemann talks about them in the Organon of Medicine, the book where he introduces homeopathy and its guiding principals. It has been translated from the German and goes by various names, including Organon of the Medical Art.
1) You are really healthy and you are not adversely affected at all by the vaccine and likewise you would not get sick if you were exposed to the virus.
2) Your body has to mount a response, because you are susceptibile to the vaccine, and you would be to the virus as well, if you encountered it naturally. In this case your level of health is pretty good and you may just have a minor illness in response to exposure to the vaccine, or exposure to the virus.If you sought homeopathic treatment to help you recover at this point, you may do well with an acute remedy like Arsenicum album, Bryonia, or Rhus tox. Or your symptoms may point to your constitutional remedy.
In either event your reaction is manageable. Without homeopathic treatment you still may be left with some residual effects from either the vaccine or the illness, or you may recover just fine.
3) In the third case the vaccine and or the illness are real stressors for the person. They can have a hard time recovering from both and both can lead to a weakening of the individual. People who fall into this group, may have some chronic health issues that they are dealing with, or they are just very highly susceptible to being harmed by both this particular vaccine and the illness.
These are the people who should not be vaccinated, because they already have a compromised immune system, and are not in a sufficiently optimum state of health to cope with the vaccine or the illness.
They are also the people who may report long-term adverse effects from both the vaccine and the COVID19 virus.
Homeopathy can help these people recover using the same acute remedies mentioned earlier, and/or constitutional remedies. The recovery would most likely be longer and more remedies may be needed in sequence to restore health.
4) People who fall into Group 4 should absolutely not be vaccinated, because their initial level of health is not good, or they are highly susceptible to the vaccine or virus, and their immune system simply cannot mount an appropriate response or defense against it.
The people who could die if exposed naturally to the virus are the same people who could die if exposed to the vaccine.
Should I get the COVID19 Shot?
This is a question that each of us will ask ourselves? The answer depends upon your belief system. If you were born and raised on allopathic medicine. If this is what you love and believe in, and is the only thing you know about, you will most likely chose to get the vaccination.
Since this group represents the bulk of the people in the United States, this will be the conclusion drawn. Thank goodness most of these people will fall into group one or group two, as we are seeing with the virus itself. The majority of people who get the virus recover easily, a much smaller minority fall into group three and an even smaller minority into group four.
If you are a person who has been born and raised on homeopathy, or who happened to be fortunate enough to encounter it later in life, you are more likely to opt out of getting the vaccine, because you are not willing to take the risk of it, and because you know of an alternative modality to the conventional one that can offer you a viable alternative.
What Can Be Done To Boost The Immune System
The next question I want to respond to is what can be done to boost the immune system. Here there are such a wide range of possibilities. Every health practitioner has their own favorites. Here are a few suggestions by Robin Murphy. He calls these Super foods and herbal tonics for the Respiratory system:
- Carbon 60
“This is a tiny molecule composed of 60 carbon atoms arranged in a sphere, and is also known as a buckyball.
- Chia Seeds
- Apple Cider Vinegar
“This is a natural alternative to many over-the-counter nasal decongestants and sinus infection remedies. The vinegar helps to naturally clear the nasal passages as well as to eliminate infection. Apple cider vinegar helps to clear out sinus congestion. ACV has natural antiseptic, antibacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties that make it effective in clearing sinuses quickly.”
Honey, Garlic, Vinegar
1 cup apple cider vinegar
1 cup raw honey
8 cloves of garlic.
“Pour the mixture into a glass container. Seal and leave in the refrigerator for seven days. The normal dosage is 1 to 2 tsp. in a glass of water or fruit juice. This is best before breakfast.
- Zinc supplements: dose 15 mg – 30 mg
- Elderberry syrup, tea, or tincture
- Frankincense oil
“Traditionally healers burned Frankincense and Myrrh to treat respiratory infections and promote the expulsion of phlegm. Add essential oils of Francincense and Myrrh to a humidifier or hot bath. The steam can soothe your irritated mucus membranes. A tea made with Frankincense or Myrrh may help to ease sinus infections and sore throats.”
- Turmeric tea
- Holy Basil tea
- Olive leaf Tea
Other things that Robin Murphy recommends are grounding mats and humidifiers to help ease the effects of colds and flus.
The oils that he recommends are:
- Rescue Remedy, Frankincense oil, Eucalpytus oil and Rose oil.
“He says that they help prevent the spread of airborne viruses.
Helps your home feel warmer and more comfortable
Promote faster healing from colds, fevers, sinusitis and flus.
Relieve allergies and asthma symptoms.
Robin Murphy also discusses the benefits of negative ions. You get natural exposure to this in the sunlight, or at the beach, near a waterfall and in the mountains. At home taking a shower and using a good room humidifier helps increase your exposure to negative ions. They have the following benefits:
- Reduce fatigue
- Better sleep
- Reduce inflammation
- Enhance metabolism
- Reduce allergens
- Strengthen the immunity
- Reduce bacteria and viruses.
Robin Murphy also recommends steam therapy. Here are the steps for doing this:
Boil a few cups of water in a pot.
Pour the steaming water into a large bowl
Put the bowl on a firm, flat surface
Hold a towel over your head like a tent to help trap the steam
Lean over the bowl and inhale the steam.
He recommends using apple cider vinegar, eucalyptus oil or frankincense oil.
Paul Herscu’s Epidemic Updates:
Paul Herscu is probably the best person to read to get updates about the pandemic and to learn about the vaccine, and how to protect yourself if you chose to get the vaccine. Here is a link to an article wrote about how to prepare yourself for the vaccine.
He gives suggestions such as “ Use a general, wide-acting anti-inflammatory herb, such as curcumin, either in pill form or in cooking to help ensure good immune response. There are other wonderful foods to add in this category such as onion, garlic and ginger.”
I grew up in Iran, and I see that they have a phenomenally good diet, because Cumin, Turmeric, Cinnamon and all these healthy herbs are eaten daily in the diet. The traditional American diet does not incorporate these things, hence the need to supplement for them.
Paul Herscu also recommends using prebiotic foods in your diet. These are found in onions, garlic, leeks, honey, bananas, chicory root, dandelion greens, Jerusalem artichokes, asparagus, barley, oats, apples, Cocoa beans, and others. You can research this on the web.
He recommends using nutritional supplementation with Vitamins D, E, A, C the mineral zinc and essential fatty acids.
There are so many other things being used all over the world to help with boosting the immune system.
- Traditional Chinese Medicine
- Ayurvedic Medicine.
People are using Homeoprophylaxis. Please see Kate Birch’s work and Kari Kindem’s work to learn about these things.
Nootropics is a field that my older son is interested in. There is a lot here to help with boosting the immune system from using Adaptogens, such as Ashwaganda, Ginseng, Rhodiola Rosea, Asthaxanthan, and a wide variety of mushrooms, such as Reishi, Cordyceps, Lion’s Mane and others. Nootropics is an enormous field that encompasses so many health giving herbs and supplements.

How Can Homeopathy Help If there has Been an Adverse Reaction or to Prevent Adverse Reactions?
I have had a few people ask me this question this week, so I guess it is on people’s minds. I don’t know if I have an easy answer.

These are the best known remedies for ailments from vaccination, but there are quite a few other ones, which I will list below. My own feeling is that the best thing to do if you feel you have been injured by a vaccination is see your homeopath. Let him or her take your case. It is possible that an acute remedy or a constitutional remedy that fits your symptom picture will be what it takes to restore you to health. There is a ton more to say on this subject, but being a meditator and a mystic I prefer silence to speech. All the above words belie that. I hope there is a paricle of truth in what I have shared, that will have made it worth your time to give this a glance.
